I hate V-Fins, I really do. I think they are pointless and other than for cosmetic reasons, I really do not think there should be any reason why Gundams should have them. Actually, I understand why they need to be there, the Gundams have to stand apart from the rest of the mechs in the same way the mono-eyes almost always designate a mech as that of the antagonists.  So for the Strike Noir I opted to cut the V-Fins out. It made the mech less heroic but more "gruntish", something that I think matches the color scheme that I made for him. I found the inspiration for this scheme from the Transformers Animated Bulkhead figure. I realized that I do not have a lot of green mechs and I really haven't used brown as an accent so I went ahead and literally copied off the scheme from the toy. The backpack is one heavy beast. 1/144 Zaku Amazing, photo shoot in progress. It might seem like I haven't been working on a lot of Gunpla these past few months but the truth is that the hobby bench has been as busy as before. It's the kit photography that's driving me nuts right now. I'm thinking about a lot of things related to taking photos of my kits. I want to have a more permanent set-up but the thing is I do not have space here in my studio that would work. I usually take photos on the hobby bench but I always have a kit that's being built there so right now I'm trying to find a way to make space for my light box. I also would want to take advantage of the sun roof that's been installed in the kitchen but the thing is I take my time when I'm shooting and I spread that over a couple of days because I only do kit work in short bursts of 10 minute breaks away from the PC. If I left my set-up at the kitchen, I'd be pissing off all the people at the house. I guess the prob...
