SD Zeong

Quoting from Gundam.wikia.com: The MSN-02 Zeong is a prototype mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon at A Baoa Qu space fortress during the One Year War of the anime Mobile Suit Gundam. The Zeong was built especially for Newtype pilots and was first piloted by the "Red Comet" Char Aznable. The final product of the MS-16X "Bishop Plan", the Zeong was a mobile suit in the fact that it featured a roughly humanoid shape. However, it lacked legs, which first surprised its pilot. Although it was only 80% complete, it didn't matter in gravity-lacking space, since the legs aided in the AMBAC System. Because of that factor, it was at 100% combat capacity when first used. The Zeong was the first mobile suit to use Psycommu system. This let it effectively use its wire-guided, remote-controlled arms, each built with 5-mega particle gun fingers. SD Zeong Update

Here's a quick update on the SD Zeong that I posted a couple of weeks ago. From the image here we can see that the kit has been primed. I used a local primer from my neighborhood paint supply called Sphero Primer Surfacer which is a lacquer primer that had to be applied with an air brush, or in my case, a mini spray gun. Priming gives me an opportunity to check for errors that would have been hard to detect with the kit in its molded colors, what with all the work done in. Priming also would help me a lot in the next stage for this kit which is hand brushing using Reeves Acrylics. The images above show the kit in its flat painted state. Notice that there are brush strikes on some of the parts. I opted not to go for a really clean paint application at this stage since I planned to weather the kit heavily. To be honest, this stage took the longest because the yellow paint that I used was on the thin side and it took a lot of coats to get an opaque look. Next tim...
