Bombshock and Kampfer update

Image
Decepticon Micromaster Bombshock looks nice! Very loose though, specialky the legs. I really hate using acrylic putty. Its just too messy for me. For my needs I think super glue would be enough. Also, I'm going to have to avoid working on kits when I'm already sleepy; i accidentally chopped off a part while trimming the putty.

Micromaster Fuzer and Blast Master with Brainstorm

Image
I'm digging Fuzer and Blast Master as weapons for Generations Brainstorm. Also happy that most of my collection is here with me now.  ---------------------------- So I'm just about finished with this gig that's been on my plate for far too long. Once I'm done with this I'll go back to drawing robots in my spare time😁

Optimus Primal!

Image
Monkey! I really love this Optimus Primal and I am really thankful to my wife for giving this to me. I guess I'm blessed that my wife is very supportive of this hobby of mine. I really thought this would be my last build! On the night that I was to get married I built the SD Perfect Gundam. It was my way of saying good bye to the hobby. I used to believe that when I got married I would throttle down on getting Transformers and model kits but the opposite happened. The thing is, my wife loves to get me robots hehe... she says it is one of the few things that define who I am and she would not want me to stop doing so. Add those gifts to my own purchases and now I have a collection that is steadily growing at a slightly faster pace than when I was single. By no stretch though is my collection massive, nor do I collect everything that comes out. I tend to buy on schedule and on a budget and my collection is a bit large because I have been doing this for so long.  I will how...

2nd Dose and my toys are home (most of them, anyway)

Image
Finally got our 2nd dose of Sinovac and right now I am getting myself ready for any side effects that may happen. I'm praying that it won't be that bad and that we will still be able to function well tomorrow. I have to admit that a few days before our 2nd shot I was having reservations, largely because of news telling that the vaccine will harm you and that they don't really offer that much protection anyway. I've had well meaning people telling me that my body has its own natural defences against Covid and that I should not be afraid. Thing is though is that I've lost an aunt to covid as well as some people I know and it can't be more real than that. As far as I understand it too, vaccines have worked before and so far our vaccines are promising enough. I know it's not a hundred percent guarantee of not getting sick, but anything that gives me an edge over having severe Covid and dying from it is a shot worth taking. I don't want to leave m...

Cindersaur

Image
Mini Barney Got this Cindersaur for around 2 dollars and for that price its a steal😁 I love tiny bots although I almost always never get to complete them because at their original price they are way too overpriced and when they go on sale the selection tends to be very limited. Way back around 2008 I was fresh into collecting TF and since online shopping wasn't a thing then I would spend a lot of time in malls after office hours checking out stocks and TFs on sale and I was able to build a sizable collection using this method up until 2012 when I went freelance full time and rarely had time to go to malls. Tomorrow I'll be getting my 2nd dose of Sinovac and we'll be going home to our old house in Malabon. I'm a bit excited because I'll be picking up some of my collection there that I did not bring here to QC because I was afraid that they won't fit in the condo. Since we've converted the small room into a storage area I think I just might be abl...

Optimus Primal!

Image
Gosh I love this packaging! My wife gave me Optimus Primal as a gift the other day and I am so stoked! I've always wanted to get him, specially when it was released last January but at that time I felt that Transformers were getting too expensive, specially with the way the figures are getting smaller these days. I mean, this is a Voyager priced toy for the size of a large deluxe and at first I thought that it wasn't worth the price, specially with the bad plastic that some of my Titans Return figs have. But man I was so wrong! This guy is perfect. I think that even though he is small he is worth the price. The quality of the plastic is similar, if not the same, as some of my 3rd party TF figs and the crispness of the paint apps are so much better, not to mention the packaging art. The only thing I do not like about him is the card that came with him. I wish it was him but instead I got the Ark. As my first kindom fig, I think it would be safe to say that I'm going to get m...

Gunpla - Sanding the Weapon Binders

Image
There's a reason why I generally do not like huge flat areas of model kit parts and that's because of these uneven parts that take a lot of time to sand in order for them to get even. I used to just ignore this but with this build it just has to be taken care of. ------------------- My current work station is my happy place and I wish I could spend more time here.

I've started trying to finish a kit again!

Image
It feels nice to be able to start building again. Over the last few months I've just been snap building, trying to get through my backlog of unbuilt kits and only last week have I just started to work again on a fully painted build, the Kampfer Amazing. I love this kit, although I find the lack of details on the weapons quite annoying. This is an area of the kit that I will try to improve on by scribing and adding some detailing parts if I can find them.  --------------- A lot has changed since my last post, the most significant being our move to a new home. The pandemic has started to take a mental toll on us and so my wife and I decided that we needed to go ahead with one of our goals which was to try out living in a condo. So far, its been great. We miss our family in Malabon, what with the current lockdown situation preventing us from visiting each other but mostly its been good. God is good, and we thank him for the changes that are happening in our liv...
