1/144 Turn X Part 2

Image
Here's part 2 of the Turn X shoot: I bought an issue of Hobby Japan a couple of weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised at how value you can get from that magazine. I used to think that they'd cost around Php 700 but I found out that you could get an issue for Php 450 from Greattoys and I'm just really enjoying the magazine. I used to buy Fine Scale Modeler, Scale Auto and Aviation Modeler Magazine from Book Sale and to be honest, compared to their US counterparts, Hobby Japan is like 10x better in terms of just the sheer amount of model kit goodness that you get for an issue.  Wow, just wow, I might end up buying an issue every month.

1/144 Turn X

I recall going to Tutuban, back in the days when all the Gundams were on sale at 50% off (by the way, that's where most of my stash came from), and going there just to get this kit. I fell in love with the series Turn A Gundam and their off kilter mechanical designs and to this day this series of kits is the only one that I actually spent time and effort to complete. The Turn X is the main antagonist mech of the series. I love how it is assymetrical and I like the idea that it carries this huge backpack that houses a lot of its weapons. The recently released MG kit of this series translates this concept way better than the old 1/144 kit does but nevertheless, I still like the abstract/art nouveau feel of the whole weapons load out for the Turn X.  I finished this kit more than a year ago but only got around to posting the images on the blog today... I've actually forgotten that I built this and was only reminded of it when a friend of mine c...

SD Zeong

Not knowing what I wanted to build after the MG Wing Zero, I decided to do a random grab from my stash box and the SD Zeong was the kit that I got. I have already forgotten that I got this kit and was only reminded that I bought this when my brother and my cousin decided to clean one of our storage areas and they got a paper bag full of old Plamo. Along with this they also found my missing SD Perfect Gundam (I've also forgotten about that), SD Freedom and Justice as well as my missing 1/144 unbuilt Tieren Ground Type as well as the missing manipulators for my 1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam. I decided that for this build I will be weathering the kit heavily. I used my hobby knife and side cutters to add battle damage to this SD. I am also planning on making some effects parts for the explosion out of putty and I plan to have this removable so that the kit can be displayed on its own. I've added some additional panel lines for the kit as well as some plastic plates t...
