1/144 Turn X

I recall going to Tutuban, back in the days when all the Gundams were on sale at 50% off (by the way, that's where most of my stash came from), and going there just to get this kit. I fell in love with the series Turn A Gundam and their off kilter mechanical designs and to this day this series of kits is the only one that I actually spent time and effort to complete.

The Turn X is the main antagonist mech of the series. I love how it is assymetrical and I like the idea that it carries this huge backpack that houses a lot of its weapons. The recently released MG kit of this series translates this concept way better than the old 1/144 kit does but nevertheless, I still like the abstract/art nouveau feel of the whole weapons load out for the Turn X.

I finished this kit more than a year ago but only got around to posting the images on the blog today... I've actually forgotten that I built this and was only reminded of it when a friend of mine came earlier and we were talking about red mechs from the Gundam franchise. This was hand-painted with Reeves acrylics and is to this day still one of my most favorite builds so far.

This is just part 1 of the image set and I'll be uploading the next batch in a few days :)
