1/144 Gaia Gundam Part 1
Ok, so it has been a while since I posted here. Again, I have been swamped with work but the real reason why I haven't had as much time to write was because I was playing DOTA 2. My friends play that game a lot and I kind of got hooked with it for almost 3 weeks, spending most of my break time playing when I could have been writing or catching up on my readings.
When I realized that I haven't been able to update my blog and noticed the raw shots of my kits piling up I decided to cut down on playing and instead edit and upload some of the images that I took a couple of weeks ago. I have been building non-stop by the way, me not being able to update my blog does not mean that I have forgotten about Gunpla... nope, quite the opposite to be exact.
So this is my first attempt at being able to post on a regular basis. I am gunning for at least two updates a week. I have set up a separate writing space in the house, away from my drawing set-up, where I can work on editing the photos I took of my kits and write for my blogs. Drawing is very irresistible for me right now and anywhere near my studio I just want to draw but I know that this is not productive, specially on long drawing hours.
So here's part 1 of my Gaia update. I got this kit along with an Aile Strike, a partially built Blitz and an NG Sword Strike all in 1/144 scale way back around 2006. I loved the Gaia because it was slender, and the transformation is quite nice. I broke the beam blades on the wings so I just replaced them with toothpicks that I painted pink.
This kit was hand-painted with Reeves Acrylics and is the last kit, so far, that I will use this painting method. It is too time consuming and I have been piling up with kits so I decided to use the airbrush again in order to speed things up for me. I'm still using cheapo paints though and so far I have been happy with the results on the 3 kits that I've finished using lacquer paints.
Cheers guys and God bless!
